Some people’s business models for success are full of words like “bigger” and “more”, but we have applied a different yardstick to our business method. Although we have a long history in woodworking, including managing a multi-million dollar cabinet company with 160 employees and 90,000 square feet, we have chosen to set up a small shop in an area of unincorporated Santa Ana known as Cowan Heights. Today, we are still working out of that shop, and, yes, there’s some additional equipment that wasn’t there five years ago. But what has not changed is our philosophy of running a professional, licensed, insured, quality, and profitable business out of a small shop as a lifestyle choice.

My wife, Lavonna, is a certified interior designer with a specialty in Kitchen and Bath. In addition to her design talents, she takes an active roll in reviewing the bids, ordering materials for the various jobs, and scheduling the workload. This “sets the tone” for dealing with customers in a professional manner. My son Micah, has his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Chapman University with an emphasis in design. With his education and natural artistic ability, he not only produces all of our advertising and marketing materials, this website, and also AvalonCabinet.com, but his creative input is clearly noticed in the colors, finishes, and tasteful aesthetics of each kitchen produced.
